Mike Pence suspended his Presidential campaign yesterday.

Good thing too, because it reminded me that Mike Pence was running for President! (I totally forgot about that guy.)

With his Presidential hopes and dreams dashed away, and with no chance that he will run again with Donald Trump in 2024, Mike Pence is relegated to the ash heap of history, destined to become an answer on "Jeopardy" or a bonus question for extra credit on some High School History exam.

The story of Mike Pence is a tragic and cautionary tale. He has often been compared to Judas Iscariot who sold out the Son of God for 30 pieces of silver. (Which, just so happens to be the color of Mike Pence's hair! That can't just be a coincidence. God must be telling us something.)

When Mike Pence refused to even entertain the notion of delaying certification of the electoral votes on January 6th, he didn't just harpoon President Trump's political career, but also his own. Trump's wounds healed. Mike's did not.

The argument made by the left and the "Never Trumpers" on the right was that the Electoral College Act didn't allow for the Vice President to take any action whatsoever and was strictly ceremonial. However, two years later, they updated the language of the Electoral Act to specify that it was strictly ceremonial. And, if they later had to specify it was only ceremonial, then it wasn't clear in the first place. And if it wasn't clear in the first place, then an argument could have been made. And if an argument could have been made, Mike Pence should have made it.

He didn't.

Mike Pence doesn't like to argue, apparently

Granted, with everyone in Congress on one side and Donald Trump and the angry base on the other, you could say that Mike Pence was caught between a rock and a hard place.

But, when you're caught between a rock and a hard place, you just have to push harder! At least, that's what I do.

You have to be strong. You can't succumb to the societal and political pressures of those around you.

That's exactly what Judas did and, well, we know how that turned out.

Is Donald Trump the son of God? Prob not. But he's been sold out, crucified, and appears to be on his way to resurrection. (Just in time too, because this World needs to be saved quickly!)

Pence’s decision saves him from the embarrassment of failing to qualify for the third Rino primary debate next month in Miami.
