the problem with a chopper 1, is it works great when you split a log, the pieces go flying about 10' in two directions, you end up chasing the pieces around the yard

This thread is confusing as hell with a bunch of posts missing. So what's with the doohickeys I'm the axe head? Are they the reason logs get going ten feet of to the side? What do they do.

Yeah, I woke up to a bunch of missing posts and what not. Not sure what the story is.......As for the axe, there are spring loaded levers on the head. When you chop the levers catch the wood and separate it (allegedly chucking it very far). Was suppose to be all the rage when they were first around.
