Vinyl laminate flooring

Small project for another forum member. Pulled carpet yesterday was hoping to get it done today but still have a few more hours to go on this project. Coming out nice it seems to be a decent product for the price (product was sub $2.00 per sq ft). Alot better than the carpet that has been there past 50 years lol.



My son is helping me on this project he did awesome!

If that's the product I think it is, it's nice stuff. Fairly easy to work with.

Teach that boy some skills. I can't believe the number of kids and younger "adults" that can't do simple tasks. No basic skills.

Got other side done today coming out really nice. Finish moldings, thresholds and small section of tile tomorrow. Possibly replacing heat covers we'll see sheetrock is installed over the heat covers on one side of room don't want to wreck the wall in process of trying to make it look better lol...

In order to fix this, I have to do that. It's going to be extra but it's really necessary to do = more work ($$)

Baseboard enclosure.



Wound up keeping old one on wall and swapping guts with new one. Used new outside cover and vent. It wasnt coming out without breaking wall. Looks better than old ones. Top needs to be painted to match color.

So this project is taking a bit longer than expected (I know the boy who cried wolf lol) but it's coming out really nice. Should be done tomorrow. Got some quarter round installed on the moldings, cherry colored transition strips installed into concrete floors around fireplace and under doors, tiled a small section at garage entrance and replaced the damn heat covers (aka baseboard enclosures) on other side of room. Will post some pics tomorrow.

I did something like this in 2015, then in 2017 put matching in the upstairs in all bedrooms. It was an amazing upgrade. Carpet really is a gross product (I still like it in a basement though and it is safest on stairs) and filthy.

Stairs will be upgraded in a few weeks they have same carpet that was on floor...

Worst stairs I ever used were wood treads but at the front of the tread was a lip, like a piece of molding. Going up was fine but coming down it encouraged the foot to balance on a slick lip. It was such a terrible

I actually laid them out both ways reason I ran them like I did is the opening is three tiles wide that direction.

It is...mud area for the winter. Very handy when you always enter the house through the garage

For those baseboard heater covers, were you able to just buy the fronts and the vents? I want to replace mine but don't want to buy the backplate too if I don't have to

They came as a kit. I swapped the brackets and used the fronts and vents. Had to rivet the new brackets in place as they were slightly shorter than old ones and didn't snap into the backplate. Replaced the entire enclosure on other side of room. Good luck.
