I think this is a good idea and should be expanded throughout the Country. The downside is it supports the idea of a civil war by civilians vs civilians but I submit it's law abiding citizen's protecting life and property in a riot against looter's and people intending harm to other's. This would not be needed in a purely peaceful process.

If the protests were peaceful this wouldn't be necessary.

Law enforcement and concerned citizens should be allies to stop lawlessness on a scale that overwhelms the authorities. That's how this should work. People damn well should be able to protect themselves, Their neighbors, their towns, their businesses and livlihoods.

This is an example of what it's like to live in a traditional red county in a red state that uses common sense in lieu of partisan activist DA's and fringe leftist politicians.

I wonder if the burbs and rural towns, like mine, have any contingency plans . For example..what if a bunch of homeless showed up and set up camp behind the town hall or park? What happens then ? Any law enforcement or "services" would increase the tax burden on the town....extended to the law abiding citizen's who work/have worked and live a peaceful responsible life. The Govenor apparently has no issues with passing out money like candy to homeless and illegals and then petitions the Feds for his Pi$$ poor management.

Contingency plans? How about none.. Just let them starve off... A stray dog will continue to come back if you feed it..

I would like to chime in on this thread. This is a subject that I have serious passion about.

First, I would like to state what I think is obvious.... We are not in a civil war and we will not be in one anytime soon. One may come at some time, but I do not see one coming soon. We are in the beginning stages of a thought war and a war of ideals, morals and ethics. I do not think the current situation is going to grow into what we know is a civil war.


With that said, I LOVE the idea of a Sheriff Posse. It is nothing new. Posse's are as old as this Nation of ours, older in other Countries that have existed longer than the US.

If done properly, a Sheriff Posse can be a fantastic thing. A great tool in the ole box of tools. Much like a good, solid militia.

I think in today's climate, getting a Posse on board, before it is needed, is a great way to win this fight that is brewing. In this Posse creation, their should be experience among the group. Military, past Law Enforcement of good firearms training. Able to listen to commands by sworn staff as well. Medical training is a great plus as well. The time to do this is now, not after the Shit really hits the fan.

I don't think "well regulated militia" and vigilante are synonyms...never heard of any "good" coming from a vigilante group. I would hope the post was a joke.

Once again proving why emails, texts, and other written forms of communication are prone to failure to communicate, whether written by amateurs like myself or professionals.

My post was not a joke; I was trying to point out that a properly functioning militia would be far from a vigilante situation. The militia in general, or particularly under the auspices of a duly elected and rational sheriff would be the perfect counter to the general lawlessness that the democrat party is fostering.

Vigilante/ militia depends on what side of the fence your on.
Per the second amendment it is our duty to protect this country.
