I gather that a NY Supreme Court position will be on the ballot, and if I remember correctly, judges are not aligned with any political party. Any info on who to vote for?

Maybe back when the court was first created, but it most certainly IS political now.

Judge’s are aligned with a political party and are 14-year terms. You can google Albany county sample ballot and get an idea of what will be on there, at least my county had it so I’d assume yours will as well. I have done this for my county and there are five open seats for Supreme Court in my county but I will only be voting for one. Yes, yes I know voting is important but only one judge has a challenger so the other slots I write in stupid comments like why only one choice? I’ve also written in Donald Trump or said any other asshole but this one. It losses me off that there are no choices and the party’s get together to arrange this. If there is no challenger no reason to vote. An example for my county is attached below.

ALL voting should be on a write-in ballot. No names, or a convenient party column to fill in all the circles. If you don't care enough (not you) to learn about the candidates, and don't know how to spell their name, then you shouldn't get to vote.
I bet most people can't remember the names of everyone they voted for, 2 minutes after casting their ballot, but they know what party it was.
We would be better off pulling names out of a hat, or having a duel.

Sucks to be him for a write-in candidacy.
I have an amazing name as a write-in. If someone couldn't remember it AND spell it correctly, I wouldn't even want them to try to vote for me.
Thought about having it printed on illegal (plastic) shopping bags, and handing them out to people coming out of the stores. I would vote for that guy.

I noticed a week ago that several Democrats are also running on the conservative line. Some people just vote one line and one line only. Look closely and be careful how you cast your vote folks.

The WCFOA Voter Guide has recommendations for the 9th Judicial District in the lower Hudson Valley. In the 3rd Judicial District in the Albany area there is Judge Tom Marcelle.

I just checked our sample ballot and you are absolutely correct. Virtually the entire Dem line (Supreme Court Justices too) are all listed on both the Dem and Conservative line.
BE AWARE of this intentional deception.

I just checked mine and have a similar situation.
4 of the 5 are one person on the Dem, Repub, and Conservative lines.
I won't write anything extra under these names. I don't want to risk the dems invalidating my whole vote for it.
And don't forget to turn the ballot over. There's a vote there for some environmental bonds heil hochul wants to sell to fuck over more people.

It is best to research rather then wright it off, we have had judges in the county who were on r d and c almost always but we’re very pro gun and right minded

There are a number of Supreme Court candidate (9th Judicial District) listed on both Democratic and Conservative party lines. Unless someone can point out an exception I should be aware of, I absolutely refuse to vote for any of these candidates. You're either a Conservative/Republican or you're not.

My Assembly Cunt is a C/D. Many offices here in the recent past had C/D, or R/C/D candidates. I either don't vote for that office, or I write someone in.
A NY Conservative Party endorsement is meaningless. They will endorse anyone as long as they think the person will get enough votes to keep 'C' on the ballot in the next election.

Bit if there is no choice on who your are voting for why research them since they will clearly be the one elected? There is 5 judges seats open and 6 judges to vote for so I will vote for the one race where there is a D and an R and I’ll vote for the R judge. The other 4 slots where there is no choice there’s no point to vote for that candidate since they will surely win.

Vote for them on the line you support. Often there is also a left minor party line candidate for judge to worry about as well.
