Hello everyone! I handed in my application in the end off January. I know it maybe little too soon but I’m just curious to see how long is the wait and how long people been waiting for. Thanks!

Just be patient and try not to think about it. Not sure what current wait time is. Some people have had a couple months others a year.

I think the whole permitting scheme needs to be tossed out, but besides that itself my biggest gripe is the need to make an appointment to submit paperwork, then having to wait again after that. They made me wait 6 months to submit paperwork, then 6 more months until approval. That was about 9 years ago.

Wow that’s crazy! Me too just to submit paperwork I waited 7 months , I agree with you it’s all a scheme I believe they do it in purpose just to discourage people from applying.
Congrats on starting the process. It will be worth it.

Dont get me started. Wastechester used to require references to be from in county and it took me 6 years to get to know 4 people well enough to ask them to fill out my paperwork. I went to turn it in and they told me my forms were expired and i had to start over (i nearly lost my shit). I explained that I am a transplant to the county from upstate New York, and I work in the city so I didn't know enough people and they then allowed me to get references from outside of the county. I finished my NEW paperwork in two weeks and then had to wait to resubmit it.
The proceas is 100% used to deter people from exercising their RIGHT. The process deterred me for many years after i was of legal age (another bs way to deter people). Thats why once i actually started it I was definitely going to finish it.
New here as well. I dropped my application off in Westchester last week. Please post when you get your letter so we can gauge current wait time. Hopefully not 6 months

Hey everyone! Some good news I guess.So I called the clerks office To get an update on my application, and I was tolled that A big stack of applications had gone at the judges desk that morning my application included and that was a week ago today . The person that I spoke too also said that once the applications are on the judges desk it may take up to three weeks to be signed.

I just got my 'ready to pick up' letter in the mail. Too bad that I already picked it up 4 months ago. They are seriously backed up on the paperwork. As long as I have my CCW permit, it's all good and was worth it.

Yes! But what’s weird is that my wife and I applied at the same time and here’s is not ready yet.
Well lets see.....6 minutes to get paperwork......20 minutes to fill it out.....6 minutes to turn it in.......5 minutes to do a BGC.......10 minutes to finish up and issue your permit.
So, it should take no more than 47 minutes to get a permit.
Anything more is a scheme.

I submitted mine 1/28/21. than I started calling the clerks office , every time I called I got a woman on the phone and she was very very nice every time I called she actually took her time to look for it, instead every time my wife called a guy answered and he was quick to say no nothing here. Conclusion once in the judge’s desk is more or less 2.1/2 weeks to be ready.

Filed my paperwork and set an appointment with the county clerk, nice lady said June something....2022. Ouch. Also who I did my paperwork with suggested I try to call again to see if I could get pushed up. It worked got bumped 2 months higher. But she also said not to excessively call or else I’d be “black listed” so my question is, how does the county contact you to let you know when to come in for the interview and what’s excessive?

Theres a couple nice ladies that work there but thats it. Some of the detectives there are dicks that appear to not like citizens having firearms.
They will send a letter when they have an appointment for you, in my experience. And imo, calling once every 2 or 3 weeks would not be excessive, but thats just an opinion.

Ahhh yes, constitutional carry....we can only wish.
On that, we have friends in WV who have permitless carry as they call it.
Unfortunately they travel out of WV a lot so they must maintain out of state permits in PA and Virginia. And to have a PA permit, they must maintain a WV permit.
Other friends live in Arizona.... They have the same issue. If they want to leave their state, they must have OOS permits....except Utah....but who goes to Utah??
And also must have home state carry permits to maintain out of state permits.
So even constitutional carry isnt perfect until we get nationwide constitutional carry.

My advise in general with this stuff: use your best judgement. If it's a problem, trust me, they'll let you know if they feel you answered wrong when they do background checks on you for the important stuff. As long as you're answering "to the best of your knowledge" then you have no intent and the worst that can happens is they revoke it while they look into whatever it is that is a problem for them.
If it's not a problem, don't make it one.

I met a couple of guys that came off as real assholes over the years going in there, including the guy who processed my permit. Perhaps they arent anti gun, just assholes. I have no idea if thats your friend or not. Are you saying that all the detectives there are pro2a? If so thats a good thing.
