It happens, but in your reasoning, you'd have to convince an anti-gun judge why you "need" full carry more than the "average" person. If you think you can do that, then you might get it. Unless the judge woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. That's the shitty part of a completely subjective process.

I wouldn't hold my breath on either that the SCOTUS will rule in favor of the 2A or that NYC will actually follow the law instead of just arresting you and making you defend yourself in court later.

Not sure if its changed, but it wasnt an interview for me. Just hand over the paperwork and a detective will look through it to ensure its complete, then they scan your fingerprints. Make sure to have all your paperwork squared away and have your ID with you.

Nothing to worry about, get to the area early so you dont have to stress about parking or traffic. I park in the galleria parking lot and walk over. Id be at least 30 min early. Nothing to stress as its procedure (even if we shouldnt have to jump through these hoops).

Even if it was an interview, just say things like "all lawful purposes" and don't talk in detail about anything else.
Be confident. You're a citizen. This is your right. This actually is something you genuinely are entitled to.
It will be ok. No need to be nervous.
