Just went to Walmart last night. No cash sales on self-serve lines. This is probably theft related.

I got my first shotgun from K- Mart way back in the day. It was a Charles Daly 12ga.I should've included Kmart, they had no problem selling ammo. And the others actually sold guns with their names on them.
Those times it was acceptable to live in suburbia and shoot a hornets nest out of the maple tree in your front yard with clay shot and no one cared.I got my first shotgun from K- Mart way back in the day. It was a Charles Daly 12ga.
Yup, .22 caliber nail guns are anathema nowThose times it was acceptable to live in suburbia and shoot a hornets nest out of the maple tree in your front yard with clay shot and no one cared.
A shotgun was an excellent hardware store tool to deal with pests.
Now it's a so called "weapon of war"....
I better lock up my ramset...
.22 caliber nail guns
Only if they bring back the real made in USA Craftsman, etc.Close all Walmarts and bring back Sears, Montgomery Wards, & Big N
Those paper bags are worse than no bag at all.Attention Walmart Customers! Brown Bags Are No More at All New York Stores
First, it was plastic. Now it's paper. Walmart has removed all bags from New York stores.bigfrog104.com
Take it one step further, no exit unless you scan your receipt to open the door.
So does BJs and occasionally Walmart... at least in my area.Costco makes you show your receipt and they count the items before you’re allowed to leave the store with your stuff

It's all theater anyway.BJ's I show my receipt. That's part of the whole club deal you sign with them.
Walmart or any other straight up retailer can KMA if they try to request my receipt. Once I pay I own it. It would be no different than them asking to see a receipt for the underwear I'm wearing.
Once again, warehouse clubs are a different story. You sign up for that when you become a member.
Tell me you haven't shopped at a walmart lately without telling me you haven't shopped at a walmart lately....If I went through one of your checkouts, your own employee scanned everything and bagged it up
Yellow vest at the vestibule are either asset protection or greeters. It depends on the stores shrink percentage as to what ones they get.
Close all Walmarts and bring back Sears, Montgomery Wards, & Big N
Also include Jamesway, Bradlees and Caldores....
On top of that, the entire warehouse can be automated now. You probably don't need a single human to operate a Service Merchandise type store anymore. The one I miss is Service Merchandise... and the system they used (a modern version of it anyway) would seriously reduce crime now probably.
Some of you younger fellas might not even remember it, but when I was young that was a cool 'everything' place to shop. My first firearm (A Marlin 25) came from there, circa '89-ish I think. They had an interesting system where most of the stock wasn't out on the floor; instead almost everything was a floor model and you marked down item numbers onto a paper sheet. There was also a section with catalogs that you could get item numbers from and find some stuff that didn't have floor models. You gave the sheet to somebody and they pulled all the stuff from the warehouse for you to get at checkout.
I can immediately think of many ways you could do something like that much better with modern tech and not have everything out to just grab. If I'm not mistaken, I believe I've seen videos of folks in Japanese stores that work like that. I'm not entirely sure they really want to stop crime though.
Yeah, I miss Service Merchandise!!!!On top of that, the entire warehouse can be automated now. You probably don't need a single human to operate a Service Merchandise type store anymore.
I never use self checkout for a couple reasons.Tell me you haven't shopped at a walmart lately without telling me you haven't shopped at a walmart lately....
Hell, we did self checkout at Costco last time we were there....
Good luck with that.I never use self checkout for a couple reasons.
1. I don't work there. I don't need to ring the register at a restaurant. I'm not doing it there either.
2. Liability. If their employee makes a miss scan that's their fault. If I make a miss scan that's theft.
I was wrongly accused of stealing from Walmart - how to not get caught out too
A WALMART shopper was wrongly accused of stealing groceries after her self-checkout machine reportedly froze. It comes as legal experts have offered several tips to customers on how they can avoid …www.the-sun.com
Good luck with that.
Walmart Is looking to remove all cashiers from stores, going fully self checkout
According to Walmart, the retail behemoth will be going fully self-checkout and/or "Scan & Go" by the end of 2021. That's right, there could be a time and real soon that you go to Walmart and you'll no longer see cashiers or manned checkout lanes- you'll likely see self-checkout "hosts"www.positivelyosceola.com
The ideal situation would be to RFID everything and you literally just swipe a card as you roll the cart full of crap through a portal.
That's the best solution for everyone but the shoplifters.
Eventually you'll be stuck.I
I'm not going to check out my own items. Period. I will just take my money elsewhere then.
