Want to get my pistol permit. Madison County

I am trying to understand the process of getting a permit to have a pistol.

One site looks like I can get on Premises permit, so I need a conceal carry class for that? I do have an active hunting license in NY.

Help me understand this.

You have to go to the Oneida county pistol office. (Your location says - 'Utica'.) You need a pistol class certification before you will even get an application. 62 different counties - 62 different sets of rules & guidelines. Good luck.
