How is this impeachable? He’s likely telling the truth. We left Afghanistan and the entire country fell in days. It took us 20 years to get to where we were. Those Americans will be dead in days. Why out more service men and women at risk when the likelihood is they will die anyway.
I actually find it refreshing that some political asshole is being honest for once. I’m not going to beat him up because I don’t like what I hear. Should things have been handled differently he’ll yes. These Americans should have been gone, long gone before our troops pulled out. The taliban was lying in wait for this and they sprung up.
It’s sad that these Americans will die and maybe there will be a Joe Biden reckoning but I doubt it. Maybe this was planned. During our entire involvement with Iraq and Afghanistan, we relied on Contracted Air support: Russian Antonov's to transport Helicopters and heavy lifts, USAF C-17 and C-5 to haul vehicles and Connex (containers) and Commercial Airlines to fly Pax (Passengers) to and from Southwest Asia.
The Left decried the operation as another Vietnam style quagmire, and they're damned determined for it to be so by deliberately abandoning Personnel and BILLIONS of Dollars in New Equipment there 'cuz it was too expensive to repatriate it (that and the Military Industrial Complex already had contracts for replacement equipment) In the early days, old-ass stuff was being shipped to the Desert knowing it was mostly a one way trip for it, and a lot of the stuff that was returned to the States was coded out as exceeding MEL rate (Maximum Expenditure Limit) and/or obsolete.
IF, and I say IF, we'd held onto the Airbase there instead of evacuating Soldier first (ones that could easily have held it as it was well fortified and stocked) then Commercial Airlines would have flown in and evacuated personnel, but since sippy-cup joe screwed the pooch, there's a lot of people that learned the brutality of the goat fuckers.
