I must be stupid, I keep al of mine on planet earth.

Seriously though, some of us do not have another place to keep them other than in our homes. Burying them on public land seems a bit risky. Putting them into a storage container not much of an option as it easily would be discoverable by LE. Leaving them at a friends home is out of the question because I, for one, am not about to take on the liability of the friend or one of his family members doing something stupid with one of my guns. Yet, I might consider a relative's home but then again the relative would have to agree to that and would have to be trustworthy.

What you say is true, but you don't need to keep them all in the safe. Its not hard to build a hidden compartment for something rifle sized in the average home for instance. If they come for your guns they will conduct a basic search, they aren't going to x-ray your walls.

You might be surprised by what LEOs can and might do to your walls, ceilings and floors to look for items to seize. Still though, hiding some is always a good idea so long as children and or those with any mental deficiency cannot have access to them. That is not as much to make it difficult for LEOs to find them but for criminals to find them while ransacking your home.

I know many people who keep some of their guns out of the safe and store them elsewhere. Many good reasons for doing it; keep them away from those who may want to take them, ensure if your house is ever robbed and the bad guys take the contents of the safe, you still have some protection, getting into the safe during an emergency make not be possible. Like I said, many good reasons not to keep them all in one place.

Much of this falls in line with basic preparedness, some people have it, some do not!

Imagine if every gun owner in the country had the cops show up and destroy their house, we would have a revolution overnight.

You put everything that you know that they know about in the safe, but keep enough that you know are off the books someplace else for a rainy day.

After all, if they have started going door to door, the shooting is going to start pretty soon, and the first rule of a gunfight is bring a gun.

Look at the Bundy ranch thing, and that was over cattle. People take their guns a lot more seriously. Even if you are smart enough to hand over everything they come looking for, someone else will start the fight and things will get very ugly very fast and that is no time to be unarmed.

They would have to coordinate every LEO and federal agency across the nation to set a date and time, and be exact. Social media and cellular service would need to be shut down, and probably land lines too. Otherwise the first door busted down would result in a string of calls, social media posts, that would cascade faster than could be planned for. It would be a failure and an instant start to civil war.

If they shut down cell and internet nationwide for months, they would *cause* the collapse. Nobody would even need to start a revolution, the government would collapse just trying to do it.

You are right, they are playing a long game, they will gradually reduce gun ownership over generations until the intractable problem of confiscation becomes possible.

Bullshit on all levels as I posted about this before in another thread. If Officer Joe is in say the town of Greece and is kicking down doors and ransacking homes. How is Officer Joe going to feel about Officer Bob Kicking down the Door of his mother say in the town of Webster? and then Officer Joe's sister is getting her door and house ransacked by Officer Bill in say Gates.. Not going to go well at all when the Officer's own family's home are being ransacked. Mommy and Daddy are going to have a fit! The list would go on, How about Officer's Joe's Aunt's, Uncle's, Cousin's? They could be living all over the state..... Ain't going to happen!!
