The chief has a “ reason”— I am surprised they are attacking the permit process ( especially since Bruen okayed the permit system) instead of attacking the decision of the chief.
I don’t know CT law. Do CT corrections officers qualify for LEOSA? If so, does the plaintiff— he has to retire in good standing. If CT corrections does qualify for LEOSA, then there might be more to this story than what is mentioned.

I'll never understand that ruling.

A "permit", by definition, means you have to ask permission before exercising a Right.
Last time I looked, the 2nd didn't say it only applied to those with permission. And i don't recall reading anything by Thomas Jefferson, etc., saying "No permitted man should be debarred the use of arms".

If permits are ok for the 2nd, then I.D. is ok to vote, and permits are ok for public speaking, protesting, worshipping, and pleading the 5th.
