Recently received my unrestricted permit in Wayne county.
In the summer I called to get it started, took the county’s evening class (mandated before applying), then got the $110 plus four references (they had to submit notarized survey page each), bought a pistol (has to be left at the FFL), and submitted.
Approximately three months later had the home visit which consists of a few simple questions very fast with sheriff deputy.
About five weeks after that received the permit.
Total time start to end was about 4.5 months. I have not had a permit before, my history is spotless, and in a letter to the judge specifically asked for unrestricted on account of personal protection, eg when hiking.
