CEO's get all sorts of lavish compensation perks....
For example.. Chairman Emeritus of the Corporate Board, of a big Drug Corp gets $100 million salary and free use of Corporate jet. Same with retired CEO.........those drugs are sold NYS, but they do not sell guns, or advocate guns.

It is the same for most big corporations....insane salaries, that would make you puke. 5 mill a year is paupers salary.

They set you against the NRA,........................because they brain washed you, that the NRA is bad, like they made you know the AR-15 is the worlds most dangerous weapon against "their Republic."

I'd be very happy to have an NRA that isn't fleecing its members, and is effective at lobbying, election campaigning, safety training and competition sanctioning.

The best way I've heard it put was that Leticia James went on a witch hunt and found witches. NRA leadership did lots of illegal stuff and admitted to a lot of their misdeeds during the trial.

I've been in for over 35 years. The magazine has influenced many gun purchases and has taught me much. Even in its worst days its been a great value. The very people that vowed to destroy the NRA and it's Executives are the ones controlling the narrative and legal proceedings...
Many have difficulty with the concept of paying someone a lot of money for making/raising a lot of money...
Quite possibly and likely there were "abuses" but those are subjective and under the auspices and control of the Board of Directors, not the commy-cunt finding the crimes once shown the man.
MOST if the NRA is voluntary and MOST of the Money supporting the Association comes from Corporate donors, NOT the general membership that sends in $25. dues every year to cover the Postage for their magazine.
I take a lot of shit from people here and any other places I try to engage an intellectually honest conversation, but it always comes back to the man in the expensive suits is bad.

Gun and accessory advertisements fund the Magazines and the Association: When they run an article, sales go wild, same with "vintage" guns: Before the NRA did this big story on the Remington Nylon 66 (and it's variants) they were <$100. all day, then suddenly they were the Beenie babies of the gun world and went apeshit in prices....THAT'S the power of Media and a subscription base of ~5 million.

Does that $25. bucks a year buy insurance and legal action for your Rights? Jammed up? Who are you going to call? First thing they ask is IF you are a member.
Do you realize that most of the NRA and certainly NYRPA are volunteers? That it's not made up of a Law Firm of Lawyers waiting for any threat of Legislation to be passed or afterwards? It's people committed to actually interacting, advising, and playing politics with those in Office with an agenda.

I read the American Rifleman from 1967 when the GCA was being proposed and the NRA opposed it, however (IIRC and remember, the NRA was about Marksmanship training and gun safety, NOT Politics) they did intervein to lessen the proposed Legislation that was destine to be passed by Democrats. 56 years later all it's done is get stronger and Gun owners have not gotten it repealed, but it does get closer with every pro-2A ruling from SCOTUS.
