I know of a few affluent people and even they themselves don't like the political landscape and the taxes. Even rich people don't like having cuts taken from their profits.
Some of these folks I know, are insane in terms of keeping track of their money and income/expenditures. It's insane. There was one fella I used to do work for, and he picked up and got out of NY because they screwed him over $2k in taxes. Meanwhile he's got a couple million. $2,000 was enough to get a rich man out of NY.

Not only look at why people are leaving, look at WHO is leaving. I keep telling people "yes, people are leaving New Yorkistan, but a lot of them are the more intelligent. Exactly. NY is not losing population by overwhelming numbers. It's losing huge in WEALTH migration. When 10 retirees leave making $100k a year in pension/401k/SS whatever because the taxes are too high,, and are replaced by 8 welfare illegals/migrants/immigrants, the population hasn't dropped drastically, but the wealth level has.well, well, well. I think the changes are pretty simple. Look at the available data and people are fleeing high tax, highly controlled/regulated states that are liberal run for the exact opposite. We don’t need a commission and we need to make New York conservative again.
