We reported that DA John Chisholm only charges one-third of all referrals from the police with crimes in Milwaukee County Wisconsin. His policies allow thousands of felons and other criminals to walk free after committing horrible crimes.
The district attorney whose office let out Waukesha parade killer Darrell Brooks on a $1,000 bond three weeks ago previously admitted he knew his laxed bail policies would lead to killers being set free and murdering others, saying flippantly in a 2007 interview: ‘You bet, it’s guaranteed to happen.’

John Chisholm was elected as Milwaukee County District Attorney in 2007 and he immediately started advocating for lower cash bonds for criminals, like Brooks – a felon with a history of domestic violence charges who was most recently locked up for running over the mother of his children.

Woke DA admitted bail reform guaranteed killers would go free

Milwaukee County DA John Chisolm, who wants to abolish cash bail, said in 2007 that his bail reforms 'guaranteed' some of the killers he let go would end up murdering people, but he still did it anyway.

Bail too low? Would a $10k bail have prevented these people from dying? Maybe if it meant he couldn't get the funds together. But in that case what is the point of the bail anyway? We are bailing too many people, period. He just killed six people and he still has a bail set. Imagine if he got enough assholes to find $5M and get him out. Bail is a band aid on arterial bleeding.

People rightfully have a right to a speedy trial. Unfortunately our justice system is overwhelmed with frequent fliers and non issues, so it can't deliver that.

So, they were keeping people locked up for years pre trial, an obvious violation of the right to a speedy trial.

Instead of fixing the problem, they slapped universal bail on it, and set them high enough to keep the real dangerous people behind bars.

The left pointed out (rightfully so) that this was still a violation of people's rights. The problem is "bail reform" solved the rights problem, but it dumped massive numbers of human sewage back into our communities.


The right answer is no bail for anyone likely to disappear, or commit another crime before trial. But hold that trial within a few weeks. Yep, that timeframe is impossible in our current system, fix the system.

A large part of that fix is to drastically reduce the load on it. First step is eliminating the frequent flyers. Maybe each conviction doubles the sentence of the next one. Yep, that may mean some guy goes down for 10 years for shoplifting, but only if he's got his own filing cabinet at the DA's office. If he does, he's proven incapable of coexisting in society and we need to remove him from it.

The next part is to eliminate all the non-crime crimes. No victim, no crime would go a long way. You can still have non-criminal citations for things like traffic infractions and littering, but they are not overburdening our system the way the war on drugs does.

We also have to let people self destruct if thats what they have chosen. It's painful to watch, but we have no right to interfere anyway.

Very well written. However we all know that if your suggestions were implemented there would be a lot of minorities locked up for a very long time. The left and the press simply will never accept that outcome.

I don't know what the solution is. For now it's wise to avoid urban areas and crowds and have the means to defend yourself at all times. This is normal for me so no real change in behavior is required. Can't speak for people still currently residing in cities. If they vote democratic then I don't feel sorry for them at all and actually hope they are on the receiving end of "social redistributive justice" sooner rather than later. The so called "81 million" Biden voters have to feel some real pain before things can turn around.
