Westchester County Full Carry Permit Upgrade

Can someone please explain to me why I would have to be interviewed by a judge if I am amending my "restricted" Hunting/Target pistol permit to full carry?
I have complied (forced) to take an 18 hour class- no problem, done. But I am now fuming over the response I received while waiting for my permit and coupons to arrive.
"Your paperwork was sent over to safety officer three weeks ago, once they send it to the judge you'll be called for an interview". WTF?!
So, I have had to go through the process once, now twice!? And to top that, I was told the judge will determine if I am "fit" to carry a concealed firearm.
I MAILED PAPERWORK IN 2 MONTHS AGO!
To top it all off with some shit icing (I could not believe what i was hearing) the person on the other end of that phone said "IF" you're approved full carry"!
What's with the "IF"?
How many times does one have to perform like a circus monkey to obtain a permit?

Sounds like the NYS policy of upgrading existing PP's to full carry automatically, is being refused in your burg.

When I went in to add the semi auto endorsement to my pp, the PP was officially upgraded to full carry, by eliminating the camping, hiking, target and hunting phrase; although right after Bruen, it was then, legally a full carry.

I get it. Almighty Hochul has spoken, and she deemed everywhere but your own home a "Sensitive Location". Doesn't mean the process to amend should take months!

I only submitted an amendment to my target about ^&%# ago. Came back in 4 weeks. No interview required. They obviously changed something since then...

Broome is refusing also. I've had my restricted permit for 32 years and they tell me I have to take the course, then appeal to the judge. Not going to happen! I don5 have $600 to waste.

When it comes to Westchester county you run the gambit of judges doing amendments from far left wingers to conservative and so you applied in a period of where a far left wing judge has the task of signing off. The judicial scheduling is more secret than the US nuclear weapon codes. This interview can take a while to set up but I've heard its quick. More of an additional hurdle or hoop for you to jump through. I know people waiting for months now. But I have never heard of anyone being denied. Not yet anyway.

Precisely. I went from full carry to no carry last September. A business owner isn't likely to speak on your behalf if you print/flash a holstered weapon and some lefty calls the police. Which RED upstate is filling up with. Felony. Maybe be two if you're in a shopping center as the owner of the shopping center won't vouch for you either. Hochel will tout her new law is working and there are legal firearms carried by criminals. On the plus side, you won't have to worry about 2A anymore and you will not be pardoned or have the conviction thrown out after any ruling in favor of 2A. It will cost you $$$$$$.
