Westchester County Full Carry

I'll share my recent experience to give those who applied for a full carry prior to 9/1/22 some hope:
The morning after the Bruen decision, I went to the clerks office in White Plains and asked for my target restriction to be removed. In the area of the form that asks to state the reason, I simply wrote "for self defense and all lawful purposes." After reading on this forum that some who applied were receiving their carry permits, I decided to call the clerks office two days ago. The woman with the thick accent answered and was very impatient. She told me that nothing was looked at and it would be at least several months before I heard anything.
Well, I opened the mail today and to my surprise my full carry arrived. I hope that all those who applied will have the same end result as me. I'm going to post this in another thread as well

Unrestricted carry permit in a state where you can not carry most places. Congratulations! Maybe someday it will mean something again.

At this point in time, I see no reason to pursue having any restrictions lifted. There are few, if any, places were legal carry is allowed. Our 2A rights are now completely infringed.

My permit is up for its 5 year renewal in early 2023. I'll have to get fully involved with all of Westchester's shenanigans at that time.

Outstanding, none the less. At least you can car carry back and forth to work without worrying about carrying 'outside of those stupid restrictions'. I know several people who have submitted their amendments prior. I will see how long it takes and report same.

Good report. I am just going to be patient and wait the litigation out. At this point, the risk of carrying in a no-no area (aka sensitive place) and triggering a felony is too high a risk.

While I am most certainly frustrated with all the sensitive locations nonsense, getting my target restriction removed is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. The legal battles will continue.

After two months or so, I got my full carry permit in the mail. I gave no explanation with my request. Figured my near 20 years in LE working for this county would have been enough.

I just got my useless full carry permit in the mail today too.
