John, the one piece of advice I will give you is don't be stubborn when you hear what the cardiologist has to say to you. I had a heart problem while at the winter home last year. Saw a local cardiologist. Nice guy, young, sharp. He talked about doing this test and that test, prescribing this medication and that medication all of which I went along with.
But when he got to the "possibility" of an implanted heart monitor similar to a pacemaker I gave him a scowl and the universal crossed index fingers sign for "get thee away from me".
He said it was just a possibility, a distinct possibility bordering on probability, but I should get myself a cardiologist and see what he thought when I got home. So I did.
And the new guy went through all the same tests and medications and a couple of stents and finally arrived at the same conclusion -- I should have that implant. This time I took a different approach and asked what would happen if I didn't have it.
"Well", he said, "I would expect that within a short amount of time, perhaps 6 months at the most, you will likely either have a stroke or will have a heart attack that will probably kill you."
Well, since he put it like that.....................

Well some good news for a change the insurance company finally approved them keep me alive meds for one year and just yesterday they approved my operation and stay in the hospital........

Well went to the Cardiologist today who said " you have two more arteries that are 75% closed and I want to go in there on April 17th and open them up after that you should feel like a new man" and then he ran down all the possible things that could go wrong DEATH being on the list........ Well if the insurance authorizes it I have agreed and signed away my life.

The doctor is required by his malpractice insurance company to inform you death is a possibility from a hangnail. You'll do great Big John. These procedures have become routine already.
They have to say that. Heart care has come a long way I'm sure you'll be fine. My wife had a pretty intense procedure done on the electrical system last year where they literally burned out a portion of her heart that was causing stray electrical signals. She's fine. Hang in there and good luck!
BTW, I love the ads for medication where they warn you of all the things that could go wrong including don't take it if you're allergic to it. Problem when the lawyers get involved...

Well Tuesday at 8:30 AM I go back to the Hospital for the other two stents, with any luck at all I should be back online Thursday. Doc says this time some of the wind will be taken out of the sails for a bit but, I should be right as rain in a few weeks. SteyrAug everything goes right and I live through this I may have to figure out how to get you and I on a range for some friendly competition probably wouldn't be fair at your age but............
