Ok so I hate standard ass 1911s (aka full sized .45acp single stack) but talk to me about high end (extremely out of my price range) 2011s (ie double stack 9mm) and I may be interested.
Not really trying to get into any type of argument on the viability of the 1911/2011 these days but a look at what high end can get you (we are talking close to $5,000) here we have the Nighthawk Firehawk.
For those still reading but dont want to watch the video.. 2,000 rounds no malfunctions (drop tested 4 times, once every 500 rounds) and two of the biggest take aways for me is
1) the optic mounting, the multi optic plates sit so low that you can run an RMR (or holosun) with standard height sights vs suppressor height sights
2) the fucking accuracy of this gun
First photo here is the zeroing of the gun with a Trijicon RMR RM06 (3.25moa dot) at 25 yards with 124g speer gold dots
The next shot here is after the 2,000 rounds and 4 drop tests (shoulder height drops onto the optic and mounting system onto concrete, he also did many single handed manipulations) again, 124g speer gold dots at 25 yards
