What are Mosins going for now?

An old timer that I work with has a Mosin 91/30 that he wants to sell.
What do these go for these days?
It has the sling, bayonet, some ammo, some cleaning stuff, some extra items.
Looked to be in good condition.

Many years ago mine was $130, and even that missed the boat of the famous $65 days...

Prices are all over on gunbroker atm. I've seen them in Cabellas for over $200 now. The Mosin is a great rifle at $90, but a poor one much above $200. How much ammo is coming with it?

You will want to check the barrel for rust under the wood and for good machining in the clip guide.

Hard to find anything sub-$200 these days. They used to be cheap fun but now getting a bit pricey for what they are. Yes they're historical but made by the ton and not the best machining etc. That said I have a few and enjoy taking them out once in a while. Loud and throw a nice fireball. Everyone should have at least one.

at the Rochester gun show a guy wanted 300 plus for a beat up one .. I paid 150 for mine , no sling or extras back in 2014 .. mine does have a great bore and rifling.

the wood on that looks great .. what is the year of it ? mine is 1942 ..

I paid from $90 to $175 over the last 10 years. Haven't bought any lately. They are worth more now.

The mosin is realy a very early design, in the first generation of small bore repeating smokeless rifles. If I had been in charge of its developement, I would have given all varients the longer sniper bolt handle for better leverage on the cock on open action, a semi-pistolgrip stock, a 10 rd capacity, a fully adjustable rear iron site, scope mounting rail as standard, fit over instead of dovetailed sight bases (like the m44), a blade bayonet, rabbit ear front sight protectors, an compartment in the butt plate, and a thicker forearm with screw on barrel bands.

That Mosin Nagant at the link to SOG would not likely go for a mere $269. Add hand select @ $10 if you want a nice one and also add matching numbers $10 if you want one you can resell at decent price. Then add shipping (which that site does not calculate until after you place your order - sounds fishy but here it is:

My guess would be $25 for shipping. That would make it $314 paid to SOG. Then there would be the matter of the FFL transfer fee if you do not hold a C&R, that is likely to be at least another $25 bringing the total to $339 or $319 without matching numbers and hand select.

If you can get the one the old timer at your job is selling for $200, and it has matching numbers ad is in nice condition, that would be a good price as far as today's prices go. Anything less would be nicer by the dollar amount.

Also, I don't know for certain without actually seeing the gun or asking the current owner but it sure looks as if the stock was refinished and I do not mean arsenal refinished. That often detracts from the value no matter how nice a job was done. Then again, some might pay more for it like that.

Seems like a lot for a Mosin Nagant but I guess that is almost the going price for a nice one. What a shame.
