If you got the 1:7 Wylde don't do that. The AE isn't nearly as accurate as the 75 grain Hornady. Like order of magnitude different. 0.25 MOA vs 1 MOA.
Don't have any wylde's .... TBH not sure what exactly it is/does. I have been meaning to do some research but just haven't yet

Wylde is just the name of some dude - I guess the one that invented the idea. His idea was to set up the barrel throat such that you could shoot the 223 Winchester or the 5.56x45 NATO. Apparently they were a little different in pressure and chamber dimensions. A lot of weapon companies actually put in small print "do not shoot our weapon with 5.56 NATO". Ruger did that on their M14 line, etc. The Wylde barrels have a twist of 1:7; whereas your typical AR barrel off the shelf is 1:8 or 1:9. What I found is that with the tighter twist, that the lighter weight bullets available at Walmart and Herb Phillipsons just weren't stabilizing for me. But I am shooting the Federal 75 gr now and I am loading Hornady a-max 80gr boat tail (with IMR 8208 XBR powder) and those are getting me a quarter MOA out to 400 and 500. Actually 500 I just have plates; but 400 I have paper targets. I can ring the 8" plates at 500 though. But I am seeing such a profound difference between that heavy ammo and like Winchester White Box, AE 55, etc.
Ohhh.. ok. That makes sense. Well thank you, I appreciate the help! I will keep that in mind. I used to pretty much shoot strictly AM 62 gr out of my rifles, but I picked up a few boxes of the 55 gr becuase it was on sale for $7 a box. I had originally ordered a complete reloading set up with a buddy and we had it all set up at his cabin where we did all of our hunting and shooting, but shortly after I moved so now I have to order all over again when I get some room to do a set up.
On my short list. After my 500, I've wanted an M99.View attachment 3362 I picked this up . Going to club tomorrow to zero it in.

Uuuummmm, they make wylde chambers in 1:7, 1:8, and at times 1:9.
I shoot my wylde 1:7 and 1:8 all the time with 55g ammo. I get .5-.8 inch groups all day at 100.
Wylde is a chamber/throat variation is all.

Got a Ruger SR45 today for the fanny pack. Haven't fired it - raining out and I still have the flu. ;-( Fits my big hand well, and its 10+1. I read it's a solid shooter but the trigger doesn't clearly tell you when it's about to break so it's just a constant pull and it fires when it fires. Seems like it will be a good point-n-shoot for carrying in a fanny pack.
