$2 solution that will last years off one bottle and clean every pan in your house to a mirror finish.
No, I didn't find any way to order it direct.
I got a 15 lbs bag off Amazon for $40. The 10 lbs bag was like $1 less, so I just got 15. Next time I'll just get a 50 lbs bag since it's the best value.
14/20 Mesh (#2) Corn Cob Media Abrasive, All-natural and Biodegradable (15 lbs) https://a.co/d/gGz13lr
Pretty much what I do... and rinse, rinse, rinse...I use the Frankford Arsenal tumbler with SS pins. A dash of lemishine and a squirt of dawn and the brass always looks like new.
That's what I use, with a bit of mineral spirits.
I pretty much use the same method but i use the lizard bedding from the pet store ( walnut l believe ) with either a couple spoons of mineral spirits or turpentine in a Dillon case cleaner . I have used pre wax cleaner like you use on cars and that seems to work well also.Corn cob with a table spoon of mineral spirits mixed in. Can be recharged with the same a few times before discarding this media.
Walnut shell works well but too dusty for indoor use.
Not a fan of SS pins, there are problems with their use, despite its popularity.
I've found the Corn-Cob Media (treated) doesn't matter as much as the Tumbler itself: The Hornady vibratory tumbler is quieter than the Lyman, but the Lyman Turbo does a better job in the same time than the Hornady. The RCBS seems to work as well as the Lyman, but I gave it away before really running it long enough to compare the performance.Brass on the left my buddy cleaned for me with the rotary tumble and pins with detergent. The brass on the right I cleaned with an RCBS Vibratory case cleaner I picked up second hand but unused. It came with the Lyman Tuff Nut so that's what I used. Came out great, but I had stupid red dust on everything and had to dig media out of most of the flash holes. Pretty annoying. I'm going to try cob next. The Lyman treated cob is on Amazon for right around the same price as others found the untreated cob for. Anybody have any experience with their product?
What do you mean couldn't buy one big enough ?I couldn't buy one big enough so I made a my own stainless steel pin tumbler not familiar with the so-called problems been running it now for more than 14 years .

The trick I always use to control dust is to throw a fabric softener sheet from the clothes dryer in.Thanks for your tips. I got a 15 lbs bag to try it out and it worked great. There's some dust, but it's nothing compared to walnut. No dusty film on to the brass. The corn cob/mineral spirits combo got the brass cleaner than any walnut/chemical combo I've tried. Half the batch was 10x fired .44 Spl cases, the other half was only 1x fired, and the old stuff looked almost as good as the new.
With the walnut, it got too dusty after a while to where even the dryer sheets barely helped. Corncob seems much less dusty. The trick I always use to control dust is to throw a fabric softener sheet from the clothes dryer in.
It just sucks up the dust and you throw it away.
What do you mean couldn't buy one big enough ?
Just go to the gun accessories store. Get 2 if you really need to...
