Exactly. If only it was better than 6+1
Well then you need the P365 grip with the XL slide. 10+1Exactly. If only it was better than 6+1
The P365XL has a thicker grip at 1.1 inches wide vs the G43 at 1.06 inches wide. If the P365XL was a single stack how much thinner could Sig have made it I wonder. There’s not much point unfortunately to the magazine capacity advantages of the P365XL when states restrict you to 10 or less rounds. In free states understandably it becomes a much bigger deal.Well then you need the P365 grip with the XL slide. 10+1
Also how thin do you practically want a grip. If they went single stacked instead of 1.25 or 1.5 stack whatever the hell they call it you would never want a grip that’s .75” thick it’s just too small to use properly. The P365XL has a thicker grip at 1.1 inches wide vs the G43 at 1.06 inches wide. I personally feel like the sig 365 and 365xl are the most appealing guns on the market right now and clearly many others do as well since they are the most popular guns in America last I checked. However I do feel this is a bit misleading since glock makes over 50 pistols to sigs what 15 pistols? Sigs number is just a guess since I couldn’t find it, but sig really only makes a few pistols that compete with glock sonic the long run glock probably sells more pistols.
I’m not a huge Glock fan but the 43 and 48 do appeal to me. I would like to see these guns side by side with the sig offering before I make my next purchase, but I don’t like the feel of glock or their triggers. I really like the feel and trigger of the 365, but want to compare the 365 vs 365xl at least and maybe I’ll buy them both.
I do feel like your comparison of the glock gun vs other guns is too strict and you’ll never find a gun with the same dimension. I’m sure sizes never match up perfectly for a reason. Double stacked vs single stacked doesn’t matter to me if one is 1” wide vs 1.1” wide. I got with capacity over losing 0.1” since that is so insignificant. Also 3.7” vs 4” is largely insignificant. It’s your thread and your comparison so do as you please, but I don’t think these few things disqualify a gun to be compared against the G48. Double stacked and single stacked mags do kind of put the gun in a different classification, but I feel the grip width is more important for the comparison I think you’re trying to accomplish. Just my thoughts.
They are all just different color options though so I don’t consider that a different gun. There are no functional differences or different grip or slide lengths at all it’s just cosmetic.Tbf Sig actually makes more versions of 1 pistol than all glock models combined..
Have you ever seen the sig website for say a p938, there are like 40 versions of it
Oddly enough I don’t like the 365 grip. It’s actually too small and I have small hands. Didn’t think it was possible. I like everything else about the 365 though. The sights and trigger are definitely better than the Glock ones. Just that dinky gripWell then you need the P365 grip with the XL slide. 10+1
I recently handled a G42 and loved the thinness of its grip. I think it’s about .94 inches wide. I would love a gun with a grip that thin but the length of a G48 or P365XL. I can see what your saying though. The P365/365XL are very popular for good reason and I can’t fault anybody who chooses one. That’s the great thing about the free market, is that there are so many different firearms for sale. I would probably find the P365XL more appealing if there was no capacity restrictions. When I look at it I feel like it’s lacking because it is restricted to a low capacity. I like my G43 and my G48 as neither one is artificially held back, and I have the same gun as OEM designed, as anybody in any other state. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on the full ownership experience. If I’m going to be restricted to 10 rounds, I’d rather have a longer grip that is thinner, than a shorter grip that is thicker. It’s why a 10 round 9mm 1911 is so appealing to me. At te end of the day I don’t fault anybody for what they choose to be armed with, as it’s better to be armed with something you will carry that you like, than something that sits in a safe that don’t you carry. Also how thin do you practically want a grip. I also personally think sig should make more combinations of the 365 series. I’d like to see a barrel length in between the two and the 365xl slide offered with the 365 frame. I think those would be hits. I’d buy the 3.5” barrel and not feel like I need both guns then.
I had one in 380 and enjoyed it a lot but ended up selling it and replacing it with my G48. If it held 10 rounds in either the 380 or 9 versions I would pick one up again as it was quite enjoyable to shoot and I was very accurate with it.What about the shield EZ in 9mm. I wanted to like it but the grip safety doesn’t go flush when you grip it and it’s awful. That’s just me though. Some people absolutely love them things
For sure and totally makes sense. I have a ruger LCPII and the grip is a bit small and thin for me honestly. I added some grip tape and it’s better. Didn’t add much girth so maybe it was just the purchase and the grip tape made it feel better? Who knows.I recently handled a G42 and loved the thinness of its grip. Anything is possible. I feel like there’s about an equal chance of either magazine capacity restrictions getting overturned, as I do the reemergence of the federal assault weapons magazine restrictions coming back. I wonder how things would change if the 10 round federal limit was to return. Would the firearm design philosophy of more rounds in a smaller package change to something else? For sure and totally makes sense. I’ll buy what I want because at some point I have dreams of leaving NYS. It will be a while, but I’m sure it will happen. I totally get your stance, but who knows maybe the round limit on mags will get overturned. I know it’s not likely, but you never know.
