In light of the recent elections with republicans expanding their majority in the senate, does anyone know what the heck happened with the HR38 bill on nationwide concealed carry that passed the house last year. Was it ever even voted on in the senate or did it just die? I remember hearing about it in news headlines when it passed the house, and I have heard nothing about it ever since.

If I am not mistaken it was referred to one of the Senate committees, where it will probably sit indefinitely.
Does anyone know if there is some sort of time limit? Can it still be voted on?

Because only a couple issues are tied to a simple majority / Nuclear option (like Supreme Court nominee approval ), the Republicans did not control the Senate and needed bipartisan support. With less than 60 Republican Senators, Democrat Senate Minority leader Schumer decides what gets passed in the Senate. Since there are still not 60 Republicans in the Senate, they would need several Democrats to cross the aisle and that ain't gonna happen.

ive been waiting for this for many years... i make a stink about it every so often.. right now, its not going anywhere. we have a majority in the senate, but we lost the house. perhaps after Trump gets 2020, and if we can get the house back.
