Guys, I cannot stress enough how I hate NY SAFE ACT.

As a NY resident, can I buy a place in somewhere in VT or PA and fulfill my firearm dream?

I own few shotguns (thanks to NY law not hating O/U shotgun) but always wanted to get a tactical rifle and getting around NY SAFE ACT is very frustrating.

Don’t have an answer for you. These bullshit laws happen with the stroke of a pen. Best to make sure the place you pick is rock solid before you move.

I'll bet that finding a PA ffl to sell to someone with a NYS DL will be harder than finding someone who ships ammo to NYS doorsteps.

Edit: keep your private shit to yourself about ammo.

I could be wrong, but I think you could not buy something like that as a NY resident. I have a friend who has a Nevada license and lives in NY. He has all his class 3 stuff in Pennsylvania. That's possible. I don't think being a NY resident and having a house elsewhere helps you.

Duel residence. Of course he can own anything gre wants if its "legal" in the state, if he owned a house in NY and one in PA why wouldn't he be able to buy anything in PA

I've asked some dealers and as long as you have a place of residence in a different state, you can buy and use pre ban automatic rifle in the state.

I get that. But don't you need a drivers license in that state also? I didn't think an out of state shop would sell you anything when you give them a NY license. Like I said, I could be wrong. Would like to know for sure myself also.

I have purchased plenty of stuff in other states, including Pa

Rifles and shotguns are no issues. Handguns are the only thing a nonresident cant buy, but with proof of residency that's also a nonissue
