They are saying that the people are to defend themselves against the militia. False. The people are the militia. Every Federalist newspaper and every Founding Father’s quote says that fact.

Couldn't be more wrong. Even in this socialist state of NY there is well formed Militia, that LE have no problem with.
This has been discussed ad nauseum at this point. Try and organize a militia group now and you'll probably get raided and charged for treason. So good luck. Everything has to be hush hush now and on private land. Once the government turned into what militias were supposed to defend against do you really think they'd support them.

Yeah. I know you keep saying this but they are pretty much useless now due to not being well formed or as the phrase goes, (Well Regulated) at all unless they have grenades, M240 Bravos, Mark 19’s, etc and numbers in the thousands as well to be a meaningful threat. One group of about 100 outgunned guys can’t really do much. If they wanted to be disbanded , they would be.
All it would take is a prosecutor or whoever it is in charge of these things to order them disbanded under terroristic charges and possibly weapon law violations and the police will execute the order even if some police are members themselves. And trust me. They’ve been looked at. If they were a serious threat, they wouldn’t exist.
It’s gone way past the point of repairing. No offense. Just speaking the truth. If for argument’s sake let’s say they wanted to storm Albany to arrest the Governor and take the state legislature into custody while fending off responding police that are trying to get them for killing their own brothers that defended the governor, they would be put down Ricky Tick.
Now I’m not in no way saying that they should give up. They could do a lot of good helping the people during a major catastrophe but for their true purpose, they aren’t really well regulated so to speak and can never be at this point. That goes for any militia in any state. We the people have let the government disarm us way too much already that it’s irreversible at this point for a militia’s true purpose of disposing a government to maintain a free state.

A well regulated militia (as referenced in the 2A) is one that is capable of acting as a check on the power of government (foreign or domestic).
That requires that it be sufficiently armed and organized to resist encroachment by the government on the rightful liberties of the people.
It also requires that it not be subordinate to the government. It may cooperate with the government on matters of mutual interest, like defense and border security for instance, but must not become a defacto branch (which is one reason why the national guard is not "the militia")
We no longer have a well regulated militia, we haven't had one in a long time.

I just quoted this so I could like it again.
Although I do believe the gov knows militias are a force to be reckoned with, man per man. A militia is capable of acquiring needed munitions.

I submit that a long line of jurists, legislators, administrators, and educators have completely misconstrued the meaning of the second amendment by focusing on the idea of "a well regulated militia", as a function of the tertiary meaning of "state", rather than the primary meaning of a "free state" of the person.
