That sounds like light strikes. Ruger has excellent customer service. I would call them. They are good at making things right on their dime based on reports I’ve read on multiple forums.I have a Ruger SR22, and no matter what ammo I put in it, it fails to fire almost every other round. It’s brand new and had over 1000 rounds fired through it, but boy, it is not reliable. It is easy to rack and it has the best of both worlds of a pull down hammer and slide.
My carry is a M&P shield 2.0, but that sucker is hard to rack.

Good advice to send the SR22 back to Ruger. Mine has run flawlessly with all kinds of ammo for 7 years. That sounds like light strikes. Ruger has excellent customer service. I would call them. They are good at making things right on their dime based on reports I’ve read on multiple forums.

For your Shield, you should try one of those pull back rings that attaches to the rear of slide. Makes racking easier and is unobtrusive
