I have two of them. One fixed, one featureless. Love them both. Tons of fun to shoot and almost as accurate as the 10/22.
Are you refering to the firing out of battery issue of the early ones? I read that was taken care of a while ago?
Almost? If its less accurate than the 10/22 I have no interest in it then.
Maybe I'll save up for one of them Volquartsen VM22s.

I have one. (not ny safe act compliant) It's a very well made rifle. Fun to just blast rounds and easy to clean. Probably my favorite long gun to use. Mine is decked out pretty good.

I don't have any empirical evidence that it's less accurate, just anecdotal evidence from having used them both. I would expect the 15-22 to be slightly less accurate if for no other reason than it has a shorter barrel than most 10-22 iterations. There should be reviews from gun magazines and such that could be found online.
Short barrels are not less accurate than their longer counter parts. If anything they can be more accurate since they whip around less upon firing.
Yes! But they are still banned at Appleseed. And I feel a stock 10/22 is still more accurate JMHO!! Had a young shooter at AS a few years back with a 15-22 started out with a red-dot then a scope could not shoot a qualifying rifleman score, I lent him one of my 10/22's he then shot multiple 210's or better!
Me if I were you in Pa. I would look into putting your 10/22 into a Archangel Precision stock.This one is on a Mini 14 but they make it for a 10/22 also!
I'm just kinda bored with the 10/22 though. Its way down the list but I think I really do want a VM-22. Thing seems like an offhand champ!

I just put that same stock (Magpul Hunter) on one of my 10/22's, I need to get the check riser and M-lok bi-pod lung for it. Rifle has a Adams & Bennett ( ER Shaw barrel made for Midway USA? ) and a Timney trigger .

I did not know that. Did some looking and actually found a study by a group of college kids in Michigan that showed the shortest barrel in their test group was most accurate most of the time. Well, I'll be. You learn something new every day.
Its because the shorter the barrel the more rigid it is for a given thickness, it flexes less while firing. Shorter barrels lose velocity and results in a more parabolic trajectory but that is a different issue than accuracy.
