What to get next?

I dont really know if I want to buy anything at all at the moment but 'tis the season to at least mull it over.

I already have:

CZ75 BD 9mm full size
Ruger Mark iv Hunter .22
SIG P227 .45

Additionally sometime in the new year my FiL will send the S&W M+P full size 45.

What is my safe missing? I am thinking something medium/small in 9 (or even 380)? A 1911? Something random?

Maybe a revolver, sure. I am not a fan of striker fired pistols (the M+P is an exception). I was thinking about an AR but I'm concerned the next thing ATF is going to do is "re-ban the brace" (plus my county is a shotgun only hunting zone). I was thinking maybe a 1911 but I will already have 2 45's and from what I gather 9mm on the platform can be finicky.

Had considered this heavily but my CZ already fills this role. I am a 226 fanboy from way back but the CZ has won me over.

At the moment my mind is stuck on two different concepts- something shiny steel with wood grips or something compact for carry (for some day when I get off my ass and upgrade my permit).

My vote is a wheel gun in .357 ideally in stainless. If you want something that can serve as a back up go with a .38 (S&W J frame).

I carry either a Ruger GP100 or a Glock 20. With the right holster, every gun is a carry gun.

What do you really enjoy doing the most?
Perhaps you alreadybhave the firearm but need some training or invest it on a trip to go shooting.
Or perhaps you want to consolidate around a bore size and buy more bullets and a casing and/or gun that can do something new snd interesting to you.
Or perhaps you want something classic as collectible.
Hard to know what to day wo knowing what you like and why.

Only 3 handguns ?? I thought I knew you better,, you're either real young or really way behind..
Ps. Don't forget to consider a black powder pistol.. good fun , lots of smoke, and smells great too..

Let's just say up until a year or two ago I was working in becoming heavily invested on long guns....

I've been toying with the idea of the Micro 9 for my next fling, but have yet to do any research. It's just a good looking and feeling piece and I already have 2 9mms so ammo will cross over. Call me old fashioned but I love the 1911 frame style.

I've been on a revolver kick lately.

How about a S&W 29/629 (44 mag) on the big end, or S&W 17/617 (22) if you like the little guys?

Revolver. Get a GP100 or 686 or better yet, get yourself a Single Action Army. Either an Italian clone or a Ruger New Vaquero.
