What's your one "go to" for home protection?

Speaking of Dogs! My 2nd line of defense, after the house alarm goes off, would be my Pugs Enzo and Bruno! They are small, look docile and no Rottweiler, but VERY protective! Any knocking on the door, Ring notification, unknown visitors, people even walking by the car when out, they bark their heads off, and arch their backs, ready to kill! :D Hence their latin motto, multim in parvo, which means a lot in a little. :cool:
What turned me onto Pugs you might ask? Back in '96, I picked my wife up from work in the city and her boss's pug, jumped in the back seat, to go for the ride. At the time, I lived in Briarcliff Manor, so was also dropping her boss off at her apt. Then my wife and I moved into the city in '97 (Guiliani and Pataki era baby!) and wanted a dog. So of course we bought a Pug (Sarge), which was perfect for a 750sf apt. The rest is history.....
Here are the 2 current Killers! Bruno is first pic and 7, Enzo is behind Bruno in the second pic at 5 months past August. :p

We always consider the dogs as the alarm.

My wife (before we met) had an incident where she thought someone was breaking in.

She locked her 120lb Rottweiler in her crate and grabbed her shotgun because "I didn't want her to get in the line of fire".

I really lucked out when I married that girl LOL.

Well, I have a pair of cuddly little border collies, a pair of loveable German shepherds, an abundance of pillows, and the social worker can be here in moments…

If that doesn’t help, I have some industrial grade zip ties, a cauldron of meat sauce, and an entire wooded hillside crawling with coyotes and the odd bear or two who might take quite a fancy to a marinated and hog tied burglar.

Ha! A Puggle1 LOL 100% Pug body w/ a Beagle's face! How old, looks 13ish or so. My first Pug lived till just a little over his 15th B'Day in 2012 (still sorely missed). Of course your Puggle has long nails, Pugs HATE to have their nails cut. Here's a funny pic of Sarge in his old age.

Honestly right now it's a hand gun. I like to be able to conceal and move easily when I don't know if what's going on a threat or not.
