When adding the fifth pistol to a Westchester County permit.

Here’s my question for those with experience. I want to add my fifth pistol to my license. I known that at that point a detective will come to the home to inspect the premises. How does that work? Is it random? Do you make an appointment? Are they flexible on day and time? Thanks

Detective calls you to make appointment. They are flexible with scheduling. They want to look at your safe but don't ask you to open it. They also ask a few questions about alarm system if any, how many people live there and and others I can't remember. Overall the detective was very cool and only wanted to do what he was required to do and nothing more.

Rockland is half way between fast and slow...

in Rockland county you must submit a "photo" of your safe when you get your 5th handgun.
I am working on number 3 so i have been practicing finding pictures of safes on the internet!

would you call that Half Fast!

From what I’ve heard it’s fairly innocent.
id make sure all the blow and hookers are out of the room. I’d also only have my registered handguns in that safe in case you’re asked to open it. If kids other guns should be locked elsewhere. This should be challenged as constitutional along with the NYC transport law.

not a thing that I know here in Ontario either...or Monroe that I know of. Good Luck either way... Nice that they dont ask you to open it. When my wife filed for and got her license to become a home daycare they had to see it and had her open it up....they wanted "HAD" to make sure each gun in the safe had a Lock on it!!!!!!

Duh...the save next door that had ammo she had her open to...and said there are not guns in here?? and my wife said he store the two seperate....and she said that makes no sense?! Other than feeling violated I had to laugh at that. Was not an issue I just wish it was not requested to see verify that each and every gun had a lock on it IN A SAFE!!!!!!!!

GOD NYS for ya I guess............

Oh ok I get it now...the object is to fill up the cards and more like a rewards points card....like buy 10 coffees and get one free...OK I gotta get working on filling up a 2nd card...I get the object of the game now.......Hasnt this always been the object got. I remember when I first got my permit and honostly thought alot of you guys were a little crazy collecting them like baseball cards...but now that I got one or two.....you start to catch the bug and go...Ohhhh I dont have one of those...and oh look at that one..its so pretty and shiny.... you cant help but to try and collect them all.......

I thought about doing foster care but I have heard they won’t allow you if you have a pistol permit. I said screw it I'm not going through that bs.

If they contact you for a home inspection.. and the chance of that is really slim..i have a frirnd that has 13 handguns on his westchester Fully carry and has never been home inspected. But if they do.. i suggest you making yourself available 24.7 for them. And dont even think twice... !!

I will be happy to sell you a picture of my safe. Then it won't look like you downloaded the image. They MIGHT be smart enough to do a google image search. If they see you downloaded the image, they could screw you. What's it worth ? $ 50 ? For an additional $ 150 I will paint the wall in the background whatever color you want.

or just a sign in the lawn ..

When did they implement this rule? any web link?

I have more than half a dozen handgun (before my boating accident) and was never been informed by the County Clerk about it whenever I amend my permit. First time I heard about this in Rockland.

Is 5 pistols the point where they want a home inspection? I only have 2 but looking to pump it up.. i have safe full size and bed side. Just wondering if 5 guns is the problem area? Cookie yonkers ny
