The difference is that the POTUS was on the same side as SCOTUS and federalism the national guard to force them.
I do not see Biden deploying the national guard of even DOJ to force states to abide by this SCOTUS ruling...
SCOTUS does have it's own Marshall's though. Not sure what they can do to enforce a contempt ruling, but I do know any state LE that tried to stop them from doing it would be making a major mistake.

Actually, the best way for SCOTUS to slap down NY's shenanigans is to rule that the enforcement of these laws is arbitrary and capricious, and the laws are unconstitutionally vague and declare that therefore NY is constitutional carry.
NY can pass some new BS, but until they do they'll have to deal with *all* their bullshit being invalid.
