which do YOU go with

I got a surprise from the wife......a 20'' YHM complete upper from JSE Surplus! It has a railed gas block and Magpul rifle h/g. This is going on my ARES SCR. I am torn between adding either the Troy flip up Micro sights or Primary Arms ACSS-KISS 1-6

I was just doing some wishful thinking and she leaned over my shoulder and said pick something you want, it's on me. the customize an upper add had 20'' yhm no threads bbl and thats what I got 1x7. I figure in this asshole state, no threads beats a thread protector no matter how it's attached .

Since you are putting it on an SCR I would skip the irons.

I tried out a 4-16x40 illuminated scope on my last AR-10. The eye relief was around 4” but was like 1/4” of space because if my head shifted even slightly I could not focus on a target. It held zero just fine but for hunting purposes when I might not have a steady position, I cannot have a scope that sensitive.

Yeah that would bug me too needs to be more flexible for eye box.

Dammit that's not good. I really like that KISS reticle but closing in on $300.00 for my money I want something clear. I may go w/ the irons. I'd go w/ a rds but my astigmatism makes it a small cluster of grapes!

Can you put an A2 front sight and removable carry handle with 1/4MOA adjustmrnts?

Put a QD mount on the optic, and run the irons as backup.

@shootemup I have my SCR set up with a Bushnell red dot that was mounted on my Browning Buckmark that required two sets of rings and had to be removed to disassemble to clean (PITA!) and then re-sight in. So I replaced it with a Sig Romeo 5. I then mounted the Bushnell on a 1/4" riser mount and a cheap set of fold down irons that co-witnessed nicely though the red dot, The red dot now can be removed on the rail and the scope can be mounted in it's place.







My SCR stock is the sporter so I needed a cheek rest for the scope on those Nikon rings, and it just worked out well for the red dot also.

I wish, though it would look funky. The stock is lower than an AR15's and puts the sight WAY too high. I did put my m4gery top on for the hell of it and also another upper w/ a vortex prism and it was a chin weld plus! LOL the Troys are lower than normal, meant to go on a rifle w/ a raised rail. like a SCAR or SigSauer556.
