Which rangefinder out of these 2 would you get?

I am looking to pick up a rangefinder. I don't hunt and I won't use it for golf, it's strictly for shooting / sighting in. I have narrowed it down to two choices and am leaning toward the Nikon because of the Nikon name, but the Simmons goes up to 600 yards which is nice and is also cheaper.

I had a Simmons, not sure of the model number on it. Paid about 100 bucks for it. After about a year of having it, I dropped it from my tree stand. About 15 feet, landed on the grass and never worked again. I was a little disappointed.

That is all I have.

I got a prostaff 1000 from Natchez for about the same $. probably will never shoot that far, but it's a good device, and it has the "true ballistic" feature for shooting up and down hill, which I would think is a good feature for ravines in the NE.

I have had a nikon 600 for 10+ yrs. been banged around pretty good and still works fwiw.
