Who has actual experience with Stock RMR cut Glock slides?

So during our class with @OnSight Firearms Training my wife (with Ben gentle nudging her in that direction) decided that she rather liked the red dot set ups on pistols and since we have a couple more orphan glock frames that we are adopting, I figured I would build the newcomers into RDS types.

What I was hoping for was people with actual shooting experience of aftermarket pre-cut slides. I have one from Brownells that I’m currently running with hasn’t had any issues, but was wondering if anyone else has other hands on, shooting experiences with others. I’m not looking for links to YT or other paid shill advertising. Was seeing the stuff from ZEV, etc, but curious about actual experience and if people were happy with what they have. At this point, I’m not looking to send off a non-rmr slide to have it cut.

You should be good with one from any of the reputable company. I'm going to toss this out and say stay away from Zev I honestly havent heard many good things about that company (no personal experience) and at the price you pay them there are better options.

I'm a big fan of red dot pistols. Sadly my funds have evaporated right after the addiction hit so I only have experience with one.

He was really great and the work was excellent. I would highly recommend him. But he I don't think he carries pre cut slides.

More geared towards your quest for the pre cut slide. The good news is they sell them every day, some excellent ones too. The bad is the they are expensive and because it's a booming market there are a lot of poor ones out there.

I can point out some good manufacturers if you would like. What's your budget?

100% red dots on pistols is not even the future. It is the now, just like red dots on rifles was at one point looked down on that's what we see with handguns but they are more advantages than just iron sights

Sometimes I believe places like Jagerwerks and Primary Machine and battle werx may sell already cut OEM slides that they have in inventory. Not 100% sure but I could have sworn they do from time to time

@MilesTeg i figure from past experience that I can build up a complete slide on my own for around $600, probably a bit less if I’m patient. That said, I’m thinking up to $800 or so for the complete slide without optics. JL machining did a slide for me in the past and he did good work, but for now, im looking at the slide designed with the cuts already.

@Edwardteach72 ill have to look at primary machine and battle werks.

Lots of agency's are letting their officers run red dots. Sage Dynamics runs specific classes for Leo's only. Hell there was a shooting video not to long ago from Las Vagas (the one with the kid breaking into houses after stealing his grandpa's duty gun and belt) one of the officers was running a DPP

Good stuff. Aero precision carries some of their stuff. They had a couple of barrels on sale at a stupid low price. Looks like the logo changed between the sale ones and the newer one.

From actual experience. I Love my ZEV Spartan slide. No complaints after one year of heavy useage.

@Edwardteach72 @MilesTeg thanks. I believe my search is done. I really did want to go with this. But the company (Steel City Arsenal) is too much of an unknown to me. Which is too bad as they are having a 15% off sale this weekend, including complete slides.

I currently have two slides on the way. One is a complete G19 slide from Grey Ghost and the other will be a G17 slide I’m building based on one of the Brownells slides. One will get a Trijicon and the other a Holosun. Should be getting the Grey Ghost today.
