Just curious what oddities you guys may be reloading for. My oddities include the 7mmTCU, 30 Herrett, 357 maximum and 32-40. The Herrett is by far the biggest pita.
That must be a blast to shoot. The Flintlock I have will go of rain or shine every time at a target. But will not go off of your trying to shoot a deer.I reload my 1800's black powder flintlock .80 caliber smoothbore musket cut down to a coach gun, with a barrel length of 15 7/8 inches.

You shooting actual loads now or aluminum in front of the powder charge?More like a flamethrower than a blast. lol
I've only shot it twice so far. It was originally bought as a wall hanger.
Still working on what loads are safe to shoot out of this old relic. Light loads only, I'm thinking.

You hit the nail on the head. Just looking to hear stories of what people are loading of the lesser known cartridges, the process of making the cartridge and the ballistics of the cartridge. I never heard of the Gunner cartridges. What's the parent case?Oh boy, where to start?
Is there a specific area of interest or curiosity you have?
Last few years I have been doing wildcats for the AR.
My favorites are:
35 gunner for large game
6.5 BR. Long range/ hunting
6.5 TCU white tail/target
6x45 white tail / tsrget
7mm Gunner / close to 7mm/08 power from an AR15
I also made a design of slugs using 20ga shell heads for the jacket and bird ahot for mass.
Currently designing a 30 caliber based on the dakota case but using 300 rum brass. Wip still.
I like your idea of using the round balls as shot.So far, only 70 grains of 3F, half a cotton ball for a wad, and I wrapped up a half dozen old steel nuts in some aluminum foil. I just picked up some .375 caliber round ball that I will load as shot, and try some of that next. I don't trust the barrel enough to shoot an .80 caliber round ball. I want to keep the pressure light on this old relic so I don't blow it and myself up. lol
You load that for a contender? The most exotic I load is .32-20 other than that it's all common stuff.
No, Marlin 336You load that for a contender?
No, Marlin 336
now that sounds like funI forgot a specialty round I sometimes load, You gotta be carfull of this one because it's used for dangerous game- BEE's! I have a lot of yellow jackets at my cabin and will sometimes 'load' up some .38spl with a magnum primer and some Cream Of Wheat or grits and then a light over shot wad made from a business card. If your quick you can knock em out of the shy several feet away! Lots of fun and good training too!
If you need a solid projectile, foam ear plugs work well - so I've heard...I forgot a specialty round I sometimes load, You gotta be carfull of this one because it's used for dangerous game- BEE's! The gunner started as a "made in newyorkistan" kind of like a 'meh' lets do something this winter. You hit the nail on the head. Gee, I know a guy that just might try that! Reusable too. I used to use wax bullets down in my basement, that can be fun too.If you need a solid projectile, foam ear plugs work well - so I've heard...

The velocity is very impressive. That's better than the 35 Remington. The gunner started as a "made in newyorkistan" kind of like a 'meh' lets do something this winter.
This was also because of the encourangment and support from my friend Terry(Gunner who was a member here) who tragically is no longer with us.
So a cat turned out to be an amazing caliber. The 35 has the 7.62x39 or LBC/Grendel as donor case.
200gr bullet at 2500fps from a 16" AR, AK or contender or whatever. A nice deer, bear and even moose wacker.

Nice to see other ARP addicts here.Only wildcat I'm loading for at the moment is 30 Herrett AR (TAC 30). Basically a 30 Herrett that uses 6.8 brass so you can run it in an AR-15.
Finally got some better pictures of the coach gun, aka the "flamethrower". The test with the .375 caliber round ball went well.
Next step is to pick up some .69 caliber round ball, and test fire that.
Heck, what's odd about that!

I don't, but if anyone here could load me up some 9x22R, AKA 9mm Japanese Revolver, I'd appreciate it .
