put in for vacation for the 3rd week after opening , but i might hit it on the first week on my days off .. working 4pm to 2am sucks and trying to stay awake that first day off ..
I can't go the morning of Oct 1st. I'm officiating a wedding on the 30th and will not be in any position to drive to my hunting area at 6am. I plan on going out in the afternoon though. I've gotten tons of pictures of does and fawns on the trail camera, but only a few of bucks.

Good luck. My kid’s soccer game is almost over then it’s prep time!
Just did my final practice for tomorrow. Ill be in my stand bright and early. Deer are moving here in Michigan, it's been cold here the last few mornings. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 38 degrees at sun-up, high of 64!
Gear is all ready and staged by my door and so another season begins.
Car is packed!
Never been hunting before. Are there rules with a bow like there are with guns? 500 feet away from a house and blah blah blah. I have an apple and pear tree in my back yard and there are some beautiful bucks that come through. Not sure how it all works, but I’d like to try it someday. I also haven’t had deer meat since I was a child, so I can’t even remember what it tastes like. I’d obviously want to try it again before I shot one though lol.

I let a nice sized doe go at 10 yards this morning. I’m kicking myself now. Haven’t seen a thing since.

Arrived an hour before sunrise, set up a blind. Waited patiently at a place I know the deer will visit.
At, 7:30, I pair of city folk showed up with shotguns hunting for god knows what. They made more noise than a herd of buffalo. On their third lap around the property, I figured they cleared out all the game.
I really need to go deeper in the woods on opening day.

Saw 9 deer in morning at about 8:00 all walked past my other stand LOL. I chose the stand other side from that one about 75yrds LOL. 3 were Bucks not sure on size. Was perfect temp for bow in morning. Next few days will be to warm/hot to have Deer sitting without getting cutup on spot. I'm gonna get a Deer shot on this bow cam/video though LOL, you watch and see LOL.

Oh temp here in woods morning was 37. Could see my breath till just about 10:00 when I left. Got out of woods and was like 5 degree warmer.

Well,I’ve never seen rabbit or pheasant there. Lots of squirrels. In fact, I was tracking three from my blind. I got a couple of judo heads in my quiver just is case one gets too close. They went to den as soon as those guys started moving around. Stomping around the woods is no way to get a squirrel, unless you have a dog. Believe me, I’ve tried.
