No one wants to work hard and be responsible for anything anymore. They'd rather be part of a flock where their lack of effort can simply allow them to blend in so they cant be held accountable. Why work harder than anyone else when you can let the rest work for you. Works well enough..... unless the flock has the same mindset you do.

I have two thoughts
First I don’t think socialism is all that popular actually. How many socialist got elected. Not many. Is it increasing in popularity sure maybe. I think it’s how the media portrays it personally.

Second thought people are lazy fucks.

Being part of the "younger" crowd (though now that I'm over 30 I guess I'm one of the enemy now) I would say it's a combo of indoctrination from public education (both secondary and especially higher ed) and the media. Wrap it all up with a celebrity culture filled with cultural Marxism, intersectional gender-racial-cultural studies, radiceal feminism and related politics and you have a recipe for disaster.

In short, they've been told by their teachers, professors, and those in the media that we live in a racist, sexist, bigoted, and unfair culture and we need to level the playing field (especially if you're straight, white and male) and voila! Socialism is what you get.

And Socialism is really just the first step toward Communism which is what the powers-that-be really want. Not for them mind you. But for the rest of us.

The Country was built by hard work and Capitalism. Can you imagine what would be taught in socialist schools ?

Just add 50+ million mostly have-not legal immigrants over the post 53 years, 85% come from developing or sh**hole countries, then have 66%-75% register as democrats AND a declining middle class with less buying power.

Socialism as a political "fashion statement" will last until huge quantities of shit hit the fan - (The Depression) X (the 2008 crash) X (a fUSA Ebola outbreak). When the stiffs are stacked like cordwood, socialism will become singularly unattractive, IMHO

If Y2K had worked out, it would have been a good time to clean the shallow end of the gene pool. As it is, lazy people have bred lazy politics. Socialism will kill it'self. As more and more children graduate from college with more and more debt and NO JOB in their chosen field they will get a meaningful job doing ACTUAL WORK. As they work and make 'things' they will find fulfillment in their endeavors. Thereby they will realize the lies of socialism.

What I mean is globalism being used to trash the economy deliberately for the purpose of creating political instability. Then the neo-con "patriot act" flunkies can stage a coup in the name of counter-revolution.
