I found this video interesting.

As someone who has zero military background, it is interesting to see a bit of the mindset and technical background planning/requirements necessary consider before engaging in any kind of campaign.

this is exactly why I try to surround myself with like-minded people. My feelings are, only small groups of people will be able to survive a SHTF

No man is an island. In a real SHTF situation, for long term viability to be successful, communities need to be formed consisting of people in many trades and areas of expertise. Logistics supporting that community need to be in place. Anyone can be turned into a shooter. Learning another skill is what would make you valuable to one of these communities.

I'd say video games.... and also movies. Movies for sure. The "bad guys" can't hit a target 6 feet in front of them, the good guys have 15 round mags but they come with the infinite round upgrade by default, car doors stop bullets, etc.

Exposure to elements
Infection/illness

Those are the most likely ways you'll die but it's not glamorous to talk about


And then the one people love to obsess over and focus on is dealing with "people behaving badly" but is the easiest to mitigate. (Move away to where less people are) and build community.

These are all things that are preventable, but as a single individual the time it takes to avoid and survive these things alone is quite high. You're spending all your time surviving, and not fighting or doing perimeter security.

It's just like any job -- delegation of duties is a force multiplier. It means you spend less time context switching mentally and physically, and that leads to be being more effective and efficient at any one task.

Time is the most valuable asset you have.

People think fighting the Russians in Ukraine will be like running around call of duty dodging bullets and going for headshots.

I have a few ... We have our own wells so unless we have to leave the quality of my water supply is not an issue. ..
