My brother had his roof replaced several years ago.................local guy used illegals to do the bulk of the work and underpaid them. Price for the roof job was normal price............no discount.
My bro speaks Spanish and asked the workers what was going on................they said, we work, or he calls ICE..

They love that tagline about half the food is produced in California, what they fail to mention is the food produced is by all rights a luxury item we take for granted. Do we really need year round fresh strawberries, lettuce and tomatoes?

I don't have a problem with workers wanting to work (they've got to eat and live too) but I DO have a problem with exploitation; it's Human Trafficking the same as Slavery, Prostitution, and Child exploitation and should be dealt with severely and quickly.

Same in IT. I worked with a few Indian guys. They told me they were only staying till they got their green card. They couldn't leave otherwise the company would pull their sponsorship and they'd have to go back to India.
They literally use greencards like weapons to underpay people.

He admitted to a crime so arrest him. If his workers are illegal that’s a problem. There are plenty of true migrant workers available through the H2A program the problem is it costs more because they pay their travels and housing. This guy does this because it’s cheaper not better or there isn’t another way. I’d prefer to not pay income taxes so can just stop?
Also yes the pay is good but it’s only good for the legal migrants because they pay for nothing other than food. California pays more to flip burgers and by the time you take out taxes and other living costs it’s not much. I knew a migrant who told me he’d get paid $8-10 per day and here he gets paid about $19/hour so what do you think they would chose?

This is basically how NY state works if you have your own biz. If your biz has no work, and you can't pay yourself, you cannot take out unemployment. You must first close your entire business before you can get any unemployment, destroying the main means to get get future paychecks.
They want you to starve if you're a business owner.

Welfare used to be looked upon as shameful. Now it's treated like a badge of honor as you've pulled one over on the government and people get a pat on the back.

When a business reports a certain amount of volume, and business and yet reports a handful of employees that couldn't possibly account for the production, they should be audited and held accountable!
States should stop issuing normal identification that does not differentiate immigration status on the ID. Why? Because in other countries if you don't have a proper VISA or Residency credentials you cannot open a bank account, cannot rent an apartment, etc! And THAT needs to happen here as well!
The entire system is broken of there's no enforcement on any level, to expose and disallow those illegally here, to melt into the normalcy of society!
