Why we need to fight

What happened in Vegas last night was a horrific. I'm not marginalizing it. I can only imagine the suffering people must be going through.

However, now is the time we need to be strong in our convictions for supporting the second amendment. This is our most tested moment in the public eye, as gun owners, patriots, and law abiding citizens. The representatives in this state will no doubt use this opportunity as a means to strip of us the rights that the founding fathers sought to guarantee; the fight against having a police state is going to be ongoing.

Vince Lombardi once said "Quitters never win, and winners never quit." We can get busy organizing, advocating, and fighting the inevitable attempt as legislation, or we can roll over and accept it by doing nothing. Personally, I'd rather go down fighting for what I think is right -- even if we're the perpetual underdog.

So what can we do? We're a smart group of people. Let's come up with something.

I'm not advocating disrespect for the law. I'm advocating we organize and advocate for what we think the law should be. We live in a democracy, after all.

No, we only think we live in a democracy even though our constitution defines our government as a republic (not a democracy at all).

We actually live in an oligarchic bureaucracy.

Our gun rights are just a subset of all of our natural rights that are being trampled and nothing short of bonafide revolution - and all the uncertainty and violence that would include - will alleviate this chain of events. There is no certainty that a revolution will turn out they way we wish it to be so most of us go with the flow and look for opportunities to turn things our way whenever possible. Electing Trump was one of these minor victories and disruptions but look at how he's been hamstrung and there are few politicians brave enough to give him and us the support he needs to succeed.

I'm not saying we should give up but it's not happening at the ballot box. Rather we need to change the culture and win hearts and minds over the long haul. If a bunch of gays could do it in their quest to get the majority to accept gay marriage - it took 20 years - we have to do it like that... win over popular culture, build grass roots support, make it undeniable. Then the politicians only come around after it is proven to be an obviously winning issue.

Teach kids how to shoot safely....

Carry and defeat bad guys, protect people....

Be a spotless role model....

Write novels, comics, movies, art, and social media that cast guns and shooters in a positive light....

Teach how the invention of guns and the new ability for individuals to defend themselves led to the end of the feudal system and the beginning of the renaissance and enlightenment.

Teach your kids to punch bullies in the nose rather than report them to authorities no matter what the bankrupt authorities tell them to do.

You can give a million dollars to the NRA or GOA or any of the lobbyists and get nothing in return. Got to look at the long term game and get a lot of young people involved with shooting.

This is the playbook for any political movement and the one that the Left has been winning with for years. They are fakers of course but they managed to claim the moral high ground in the eyes of the public and our politics and laws follow the popular trends whether you like them or not. We're mostly older white male taxpayers here, the only minority it's OK to hate even though we pay the majority of the bills in this country... so we need to bring younger people in to carry on the righteous fight against the motherfuckingidiots.
