As a permit holder, it is your responsibility to recertify your permit whether you receive a notification letter or not.
Daniel P. Sullivan, Oneida County Pistol License Officer says "Theoretically the way the law was written is that a failure to re-certify your license is a revocation order. It’s a revocation of your license. If you don’t do it you’re revoked."

If you are revoked and haven’t turned in your firearms, you could be considered a felon.
"You’re now leaving them in possession of firearms, which according to the State in the re-certification process, they don’t lawfully possess anymore. So basically you’re making a felon out of a legal gun owner."

Anyone working any type of job that requires a security clearance besides your guns being lost ... one will loose their livelihood as well .... It is not about just loosing one's guns .....Home is gone .. retirement savings gone ... used to pay your lawyer to try to keep yourself out of jail. I agree. I have spent too much money and too much time to be in the position that I am in regards to firearms. I am not willing to take those chances.

In theory Andy and the politicians are the felons the minute they violated the Constitution. The objective is to comply as slowly as possible so as to gum up their works. Squeeze the little computer button pushers until they squeal. Make them as inefficient, unhappy, unproductive and miserable as possible (sort of like married guys.) I will fill out my forms and they can do their job, I will not help them. They get paid by the hour and probably will collect state pensions. Good luck Albany.

License plate reader does NOT presently tell the state police if you have a pistol permit. This whole fiasco has been developed soley to fix that omission. SP wants this info when they run your plates. This was told to a good friend by pistol lincensing officer. I really don't know -- when they put the cuffs on me, then I'll probably be properly informed. Can any lawmen here verify this?
