Not familiar with it, is it in western NY? Out by Lake Erie?
Beauty. Nice fresh one with great color.
I’d love to get out. I can’t drift fish to save my life. I throw spinners for them and do ok. I’ve tried drifting egg sacks, but never get them on sacs. I did get a hit or two from a salmon this fall on an egg sac but lost the one I set the hook on.
I’m in WNY and would love to hook up one day. I usually end up fishing myself since no one will go with me. Wading in the dead of winter would make me nervous by myself.
I used to fish cazenovia creek a lot since it was close to my work. I hit up Burt dam with a friend once or twice not my favorite place. I hit up Ellicott creek now most times since it’s close. I’ve also hit up catt creek a few times. I’m looking to do more steelhead fishing this coming year. What water do you usually fish?
Come up my way and fish the Lake Erie or Lake Ontario tribs you can fish for steelhead all winter long. Creeks right now are chocolate milk though. The creeks should be packed with steelys by now, unfortunately all the creeks around here dont open til April 1st.Catherine creek is a local favorite for many,it gets a run of true rainbows (not steel-head) from Seneca lake. And by the time the season opens most are all spawned out and back in the lake, leaving fisherman empty handed.
Let set in the mail box few days firstif you catch a carp wrap it and ship it to FUAC
