Had a total of 10 does go by my house today, easily seen thru my sliding glass door. One doe was a piebald. Here's the pic. Although difficult to see, look at the small maple in the center growing on the bank. Follow the trunk up until you see just across the creek. To the right she stands, a brown form, staring straight at me, and my dogs.

That a good sign for next year. The should of already started dropping their fawns by now.

I pulled into my driveway last Wed. and there were 8 or 9 deer standing in it, they moved into the woods before I could get my phone out to take a pic!

I drove by a field near the lake in Derby the other day and without county there had to have been no less than 30 in this one field.

In NY fawns are normally born in late spring. Rut is October - January. Gestation is about 200 days. If doe was impregnated mid October early birth would take place around mid May. I start seeing fawns about June.

I’ve been seeing lots of turkey and deer this year. Lots.

I live downstate and have deer in my fenced in yard eating the buds off the downed limbs of a maple.
I can get pretty close to them and they'll leave only when I let the dogs out.
Even then, they'll just hop the fence and bed down in the neighbors yard.
When I visit family in Delhi, we would count a lot of deer on the way up, but not now.
