Here is the thing. The NRA has been damaged goods for a while now because of WLP, more so now that people are finally realizing what's going on (sorry it took some of you longer than others) and there is no way for the NRA to have any power or even fix itself while WLP is at all near it. But he refuses to leave for obvious reasons and he has spent the better half of 3 decades setting everything up in a way so that he cannot be removed from power by the NRA itself or its members. So oh no big bad Cuomo is kicking that chair right out from under him which will inevitably lead to other organizations taking up slack (as they have been) or even better some new blood and true 2A supporters coming in and restructuring the NRA in a way that does what the left fear and what the boomers and fudds thought it was already doing..
And will now be able to do so with a better play book to protect themselves from being influenced and infiltrated by rats and turncoats and fudds

The way I see it, the NRA has to die completely for another organization to fully take it's place and thrive. If Cuomo is the one to finally nail the last stake, then so be it. If it doesn't die, organizations like the GOA will always lose support, growth, and power because the die hards will keep the NRA alive and in turn the NRA will roadblock these other organizations like they tried to do with Alan Gura when they tried to block his cases in the District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago.
