Straddled one with my pickup one year...thing raised his head and clunk I felt it. Looked back in my rear view mirror...just lying there...oh well...I gave him a chance I said....few minutes later on my return I drove back that way....nothing...no chuck....either that tough rat had a splitting headache or one starving redneck ate good that night.
Went to woodchuck paradise tonight and seen a ton of them at a distance. Told myself I wouldnt go back out there till the end of May,,,,should of stuck to my plan.
First shot I took was a dead nuts hit with the the 204 at 311yds, didnt walk out there to see it because it wasnt on our walking path. 2nd one I shot was at a 177yds and it was on our walking path, so we went and checked it out. Was not happy when I saw it, it was a Momma with swollen nipples. Guess I should of taken the picture of the whole chuck but was pleased with the head shot hit.
Not happy about shooting momma so we packed up and left. 15 min hunt, seen at least 10 chucks. I killed 2 and my partner missed one.

I like waiting till early summer so there's more targets but it doesn't always happen that way. Take momma out too soon and you don't get to move up to Expert Class with small heads bobbing around. Kinda like Whack A Mole with a lil tiny mallet lol.
Ok, I'll fess up. Last fall I whacked one with my Benjamin Titan NP in .22, using the 14.2 gr Premium Hollow Point. It was about a 30 yard down hill shot from the upstairs bathroom window. Took him right through the lower jaw and he dropped over without a twitch. I knew that there were two of them, but never saw the second one until two days ago. The pups were raising Hell at the front door while he was eating. My wife hates killing anything so I had to wait. This afternoon she was watching TV when I saw him again . . . Back to the bathroom again with the SBD (Silent But Deadly) Benjamin Titan NP .22 air rifle. First shot dropped him, 15 yard head shot, but this time he's twitching. Rinse, lather, repeat. 'Nother head shot, but now he's arching his back, still breathing slowly. Third one in the upper back, going for the spine . . . Down he goes. Forth one for good measure. My wife never heard a thing, a I got my second one in a year with a pellet rifle. Loving this gun, keeps me well practiced with the little ones (rabbit, squirrel, Chipmunks,etc.) for my hunts with the big ones.

Y know it's kinda funny, I have heard too many times that young whistle pigs are good eating. Not so sure I'm willing to try it though.

FIrst one this year asshole was Chewing on my grapes. shot it with a. 177 air rifle with 10.5 green pellet 1000fps at 25 yards . Hit this Fucker in the chest and he dropped in his tracks.

I've only seen two but wasn't ready for either. One walking to my truck for work and the other coming home another day. Bastards. I'll get em.
Went out last night,,,holy freaking hot,,,was walking and sweating. Shot 15 different times and only hit one chuck. Went in one ear and out the other. Saw lots of chucks but I couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. The 204 gun I use is seriously accurate too. Guess it was the nut behind the wheel.

Ya I watched those shows a few times cooking them. Best I seen was Andrew Zimmern. They are grass eaters like a beef, cow, etc... But ya shoot them and by time ya get to them few 100yrds out they are covered with flies lol..

i head shoot them ... fuzzzy fkrs .. few yrs ago was yelling to neighbor .. what .. woodchuck .. jump on the handicap ramp ... .. chuck comes running ,, .. see's my legs at 3 feet and turns .. from the hip with a old moss 22 ( 7 shot clip) FUAC .. pop pop pop .. 2 legs shot off and a back shot .. walks up .. head shot .. done deal .. lets cook it .. yummmmmm
