Work Sharp - Ken Onion Edition

It seems patience really does pay off. I scored a Ken Onion edition Work Sharp for $107! It should be here Tuesday, unless mother nature punishes us.

I have a Sharpmaker but thanks to YouTube and a cheap practice blade I learned how to sharpen on flat stones. I really like the extrafine Spyderco 4x9 but I also have a fine Spyderco and a coarse Diamond.

Been using this to a certain degree of success. Not bad, but I could probably do well with one of these sanders/grinders. The curve on this Ken Onion blade I got for Christmas should be interesting.

Just a quick follow-up. The Work Sharp was scheduled to be delivered during the snow event this past Tuesday. Amazon emailed that the shipment was delayed. So being the selfish, entitled SOB that I am, I emailed a complaint to Amazon. They extended my Prime membership by a month and added a $10 credit to my account.

The best part is the Quality Assurance testing... lol

Many old church's in England there are grooves worn into certain stones that are part of their construction. The grooves were created by archers sharpening their bodkin's after service when the tournament, would begin.

Sitting here with a couple stones putting a fresh edge on some blades. I have no problem getting an edge sharp enough to shave with but thinking about going to the next level. I love the look of a mirror finish on the edge.
Anyone have any experience with Wicked Edge or KME systems?
