It is vital to the second amendment that we have an organization that does what the NRA claims to do. If LaPete truly cares about the II he will resign and let them reorganize into what they claim to be, while they still have the infrastructure and dues paying members to support it.
On a much smaller scale, one need only look at SCOPE to see what happens when an organization folds because people of authority think they are more important than the mission, the organization.
Personally, I hope the NRA can get things straightened out and become the powerful advocate that so many gun owners want them to be and millions pay dues for.
