[Dinkus the Stinkus]

I'm sure many of you here are likely fans of the lads of inRange and are aware of their project rethinking the AR and figuring out the "best" configuration.

Anyway through their project they decided to use a gwacs cav15 lower. It is all polymer and very light. However the pistol grip and non adjustable stock are all one with the lower. I think it's interesting and could make for a cool rifle and light weight.

Ian and Karl said it's solid as can be. They didn't show it on camera but I guess they ran them over some and did no damage.

man .. i like my wood .. but so ready to paint my mini 14 ranch all black and somehow add a AR hand guard on it too ..

That's my concern too... It's unbelievable. Sure you could hack it off or something but ffs.

How about hydrodipping an AR-style lower/upper/handguard in a wood-grain pattern? Would that make it less dangerous?

A tad bit too much plastic for my taste but I bet their is a significant weight reduction. I’d love to see some torture test videos.

Here's the entire play list of the testing done by the guys at inRange. Shows a torture test of the cav. Maybe they do show it being run over on camera as I only watched the conclusion video so far. Lol.
